Even though Godfrey thinks rolling on the beach and learning to dance when you could be in the feedroom, nicking snacks or snuggling down in pine shavings is crazy, he loves going to the beach with the DunsBros.
The DunsBros love practising their dancing routine and, like humans, love learning and problem-solving games. They also love flying along the beach, rearing up, tumbling and swimming, all things in which Godfrey joins in.
A story about political intrigue by Godfrey the Fourth Friesian
odfrey Takes Over by Godfrey tells the story of a pretty typical political coup – Godfrey appearing on government television, greasy lieutenants read from a statement, calmly announcing the takeover of the state, in the streets of the capital, crowds celebrate, cheering as the coup is roundly condemned outside their country.
Their demands are usually quite outrageous. In Godfrey’s case, his demands are none less so: more snacks whenever he wants them, ad libitum access to the scratching brush, a knee-deep layer of shavings in his stall, unrestricted snacking access in the Harvest Garden, dancing all night under the stars.
When Godfrey takes over, it’s party time and none of the old rules apply.

Not wanting to go to bed, Godfrey dreams he is a nocturnal masked owl that stays up all night. Soon he finds himself wheeling across the Sanctuary, dreaming that he’s flying over the paddocks with the stallions and dancing with them all night.
After trying and failing to get to sleep, he goes down the breezeway to Baudie’s stall only to find him snuggled up in his shavings, dreaming about a whole paddock of ripe apricots.
Baudie and the other stallions don’t get to eat too many ripe apricots these days because they can cause equine metabolic syndrome.
Godfrey has an idea. Maybe if he dreams about being a night owl, he can stay up late, party all night and eat sugary snacks without them showing on his hips!
