Once a quarter, on a Sunday, our beloved volunteers and donors come together to plant all the donated and sponsored trees in the Naturaliste Habitat Corridor. They also help with ongoing efforts to ensure its functionality, including controlling weeds and feral animals, maintaining fences and restoration of degraded areas.
They are the vital link in maintaining a healthy and viable corridor.
It’s a great family day. In the mornings, we plant trees, install cockatoo and possum nesting boxes and banish forever the pernicious introduced weeds which love to find a home in the undergrowth. Kids learn about common sense environmentalism – protecting photosynthesis processes, regenerative farming, natural habitats, wildlife, sustaining ecosystems, clean waterways and reducing pollution.
In the afternoon, there’s a family barbecue. The Sanctuary provides the salads, breads, drinks and some of our homemade snaggers and ask you to bring any other food and drink you might like.
The Dunsbros perform, the Leeuwin carriage mares are available for hayrides and the DunsBros friends are all in attendance for the kids to pat and feed.
Just turn up about 9 am and we’ll put you to work!!

Parking: Parking is always a pain, but we’ve got you covered with multiple parking options in Busselton and Dunsborough with a park and ride service stopping every 15 minutes at the end of Chain Avenue. There’s very limited parking on Caves Road between the Anniebrook bridge and Chain Avenue. More parking information is here!

- Water and beverages
- Any of your favourite gardening implements (rakes, hoes, shovels, trowels) as we sometimes run out.
