We have packaged a load of great Sanctuary benefits exclusively available during the year* and only to Friends of the Garden members.
*Annual pass starts from the first day of membership and is valid for one calendar year.
How will I know what’s coming up at the Garden?
We’ll let you know in plenty of time about, and you will receive advance notice of, all our events. Our tickets go fast for most events which is why Friends receive advance notice.
As a Friends member when can I access the Garden or the Corridor?
When the garden is closed to the general public, we welcome Friends into the Garden or the Habitat Corridor by appointment between 10 am and 3 pm Monday to Thursday.
Which events will I get a discount on? Are there any events that are excluded?
You can purchase discounted event tickets for all events that are run by the Sanctuary. These discounts are described in your membership pack sent to you when you join and each year you renew and are confirmed on the Friends’ website.
The discount will not apply to events run by third parties, but held either in the Harvest Garden or at the Sanctuary.
Will Friends discounted guest tickets be available online or at the venue?
We would always advise you to book both your own cardholder tickets and any guest tickets online in advance, especially for the house when you will need to ensure both bookings are for the same time slot. However subject to availability, you can purchase tickets on arrival and apply the relevant Friends’ discount.
Can I use the event discount to purchase event tickets for my guests?
Event discounts are for members only. Unfortunately, membership benefits cannot be transferred to non-members.
Can I gift my Friends membership?
Yes, of course. If you decide that someone else could benefit from the use of your membership for that year, please contact us and we will happily transfer your membership to the nominated person. There is a nominal charge of $7.50 to cover printing costs of the new credentials, but apart from that, the membership will transfer on the calendar day of membership commencement of the next month.
In other words, if you request the transfer on May 15 and your membership started on the first, the membership will transfer on June 1.
Why do I have to buy a family membership if I only have one child?
With a simplified scheme it is not possible to offer a bespoke membership for each type of family group. We hope that the family membership will suit the needs of most families with children.
The family scheme is designed to be open and welcoming, and in the spirit of this, where you bring a single child we would be happy to welcome one or two additional child guests free of charge, whenever they visit with you.
How many children can I bring?
Family memberships include adult member’s children or grandchildren between the ages of 3-16, to the maximum of 3 children.
Does everyone on the membership need to live at the same address?
No, however each membership has a lead member. By default, we will send all communication about the membership to this member.
Volunteering is essential to the ongoing operation and success of the Naturaliste Group and to successfully achieving our aims of horse rescue, welfare and advocacy.
Our volunteers play a critical role in delivering the Naturaliste Group’s charitable objectives. They volunteer in the Garden, the Habitat Corridor, at the Ethology Program, in the Naturaliste Shed, on Harvest Days and, most importantly, helping horses in the Sanctuary.
The Margaret River area abounds with community-minded individuals with a plethora of skills and we encourage them to contribute through on-going effort, one-off engagements and large-scale initiatives.
Our commitment to volunteers means our programs are rewarding, outcome-focussed, organised and well-run.
